Comments My wife and I booked this trip as a warm-up before a big trip to the Philippines. We had been away from diving for a year and wanted to make sure our gear was in good shape as well as our skills. We got a great package deal at this resort that was almost too good to be true. We were pleased/relieved to see a good review in the October Undercurrent (We found it spot-on!). We thought the resort was very nice and an outstanding value. It was quiet and relaxing there. The dive shop was a short stroll away and the rooms spacious and had good AC. Staff was top notch and friendly and food was pretty good. The dive shop and staff were excellent! One of the better run operations we've encountered anywhere. We even(finally!) took our nitrox cert while we were there. Good briefings and staff did everything they could to make divers happy including some longer trips to other areas for variety. We missed out on the popular Pigeon Cay day trip due to unsettled weather our week. Diving was pretty good by Caribbean standards. They're far from the touristy West End and we were always the only boat on the local sights. Reefs were healthy with great swim-thrus and lots of smaller critters, but larger (aka edible) fish are pretty sparse near the resort due to locals overfishing. There are lots of protected areas with more fish along other parts of the island and they will take you there as well if you ask.

Dive Experience 251-500 dives
Where else diving Hawaii, Caribbean, Mexico, Fiji, Palau, Solomons, Indonesia, GBR
Closest Airport Roatan Getting There Direct flights from US but many are only certain days of the week. We missed our connection in Miami going down and there are only direct flights on Saturday! American Airlines rebooked us through San Pedro Sulu and we got to Roatan the next day by lunchtime, but we spent an uncomfortable night in the airport on the mainland. There are multiple daily flights from mainland Honduras.
