Comments Taxi fare from Airport cost $15 and the ride takes about a 20 minutes to the restaurant where the boat is docked. A nice place to wait if you arrive early.

The boat has just been overhauled and is in great condition. The AC works(too)good. There is a full size shower in the cabins with plenty of hot water and pressure, and it was separated from the cabin & sink with a door. At 6'2" I had to duck to enter the room but was ok otherwise. I hate bunk beds but they were as good as you would expect. The galley was comfortable as was the sun deck. On the dive deck there's a single camera table with plenty of room, rinse tanks for both cameras and wetsuits, and the usual two showers on the dive platform.

The food was plentiful and excellent. And I do mean Excellent. Chef Dorian is amazing. I gained 5 pounds. Plenty of soda and beer in cans, and a nice wine selection too.

We dove Roatan first, then Cayos Cochinos including the seamount, then Utila, then back to Roatan. While at Utila the boat received word of a Whaleshark nearby, so we were given the chance to skip a dive and look for it (a vote was taken). Unfortunately, we didn't find it, but it was a nice cruise anyway.

The reefs are is pretty good shape, though as expected, not a lot of big fish. Lots of little stuff though, including two Sea Horses found on one dive by Captain Nestor. Willie was also great at finding the little critters.

I won't go into too much detail as you can check the captain's log for 9/23/17 for particulars. Turtles, free swimming morays, toad fish, octopi, conger eel, upside down jellyfish, and seahorses were present. The only time I saw sharks was on the shark dive, and then we had 10-15 come by. These were bigger than the reef sharks I saw on the Belize Aggressor. Also, Mary's Place was open again, a real nice swim through for anyone who's not been there.

There were not near as many Lionfish as I saw in Belize, possibly helped by the crew spearing them when possible. We typically saw a few on the night dives though.

The water was real warm (my computer said 85-92). On several dives, especially around Cayos Cochinos, the thermal on the surface really screwed with the visibility and reminded me of when fresh & salt water meet at an estuary. Diving with just an rashguard kept me from getting overheated, and I'm usually cold!

I'd recommend this trip to anyone. The boat was nice, the crew was great, and the diving was fine.
