Comments Very friendly staff and owner family. We experienced a lot of rain during the week so visibility was not as good as it could be, but acceptable. Dive boats were well equipped and staff handled the gear every day. Special kudos to Adam(divemaster) and Wagner(boat captain) as they were among the most entertaining we have encountered. They operated three dive boats but we had the same group of divers and crew for the week, which gave us a good chance to interact.
Staff- Erin, Sonya and Ana could not have been more helpful. The maintenance guy, Pasquale, immediately responded to a couple of minor issues.
We arrived early in San Pedro Sula, and were flown to Utila in a six-seater, rather than having to wait for the later charter. Airport is new since our last visit, but still fairly basic except for a new enclosed terminal rather than than the old lean-to.
Food was very good, and lots of it. Gear storage was very easy and there were rinse showers as you got off the boat.
Shore diving was not very convenient- a small group did the "drop-off" dive but had problems finding the shore exit (and were very experienced divers). The entry for the dive from shore was a rock jetty that was pretty dilapidated and would have been tricky to use had we tried it.
All in all it was a great trip and we would definitely return in the future.
One note: Using a credit card on checkout required a conversion to Lempiras, and when we got our credit card bill Amex used a different rate, and added a currency conversion charge, which upped the cost about $50. Would have been nice to have brought enough cash.
