Comments ILR is a small, rustic resort made up of 4 buildings. The lodge which faces Gibson Bight encompasses the dining room, bar, lounge, and game area. The other 3 buildings are the guest quarters. The rooms are large with a queen and 2 twin beds, a small but functional bathroom and air conditioning with 2 ceiling fans. Each room has a large open closet and a large window that faces out into the gardens.

The food is great. This trip ILR had a new restaurant manager. Breakfast is whatever you want off a standard menu. Lunch and Dinner are a fixed menu that is posted daily. Meals were plentiful. Appetizers are served before dinner. The bar in on a check system. No money is needed until you check out.

So what about the diving ?? It is great. ILR has 2 large dive boats each with a dry area, 2 rinse tanks, one dedicated to cameras and plenty of under bench storage. Platform on the back for Giant Stride entries and 2 ladders for exit. The boats have roofs that have ladders for those who want to sun bathe. Most of dive sites are within a 10-minutes of ILR and 3 single tank dives planned per day. Surface interval is back at ILR. Dive times are 8:30 AM, 10:30 AM and 2 PM. Dives are lead and last usually 50 minutes with a 3-minute safety stop required. The diving is mostly wall diving, going down to a planned depth and working your way back shallow. Each week a 2 tank dive, picnic lunch down on West Bay Beach and a night dive are planned.

The life is incredible!!!! This trip we saw lots of turtles, a few Spotted Eagle Rays and tropical fish galore. Even thought this was our 3rd trip to Roatan there was lots of new things to see.

The dive shop is right on the dock. They have several fresh water rinse buckets on the dock for your gear. Each room has four pegs to store your gear and the shop is locked when no one is inside and at night.

The resort has a lagoon with a dock and chairs to watch the sunset, dive or just relax. The water at the dock is about 4 feet deep and goes to about 10 feet out by the reef. There is a cut in the coral with a marker, you can swim through to the dive site, Fish Den. You can dive from the lagoon any time, just let them know ahead and the staff will have tanks down there for you.

What more could you want, eat, sleep, dive and relax. Our Perfect diving vacation. So perfect we are considering trip # 4 next year.
