Comments This was a return trip to Grenada after a 7 year absence. I stayed at True Blue Bay Resort and dove with Grenada Aquanauts. I was a part of a 16 member dive group called Gypsy Divers from Raleigh, NC.

Accommodations: The grounds and rooms at True Blue Bay Resort are magical and spacious. There are beautiful flora and fauna everywhere while perched above a awe inspiring bay that meets the Atlantic Ocean.
Food & Service: While the food is presented well and tastes good, the service is about as bad as it gets. The staff simply appear to feel it is not necessary to check on the customers for a water refill or another drink or anything else for that matter. I recommend to avoid the restaurant and bar. Note: Grenada has a large number of very very good eating establishments. If you like food, you will like Grenada.
The Island & Its People: Grenada has a mysterious feel with its mountain peaks always shrouded in mist. The place looks like a Hollywood set for a mystery movie. The people are accommodating and helpful but not overly friendly. Everywhere we went felt safe and crime is not a big concern for tourists.
The Dive Operation: Grenada Aquanauts is a top notch operation with everything in good shape, clean, and organized. Their boats are large with everything a diver and photographer needs. The dive op is safety-oriented with all the safety and rescue awareness and gear you could ask. We found the divemaster "Bruce" to be exceptionally professional and engaging to our group. All of the staff and the owners appear professional and get along well with one another.
The Diving: Diving in Grenada is varied between drift dives on beautiful reefs to multiple coral encrusted wrecks of all skill levels. Other than a good number of nurse sharks and turtles, there is an absence of larger tropical fish like grouper. However, the coral is in great shape, in fact, I think the coral is in better shape than any other place I have visited in the Caribbean. While there is some algae, it is not nearly as prevalent and I have seen else where. There are multitudes of black sea fans, feather dusters, christmas tree worms, spotted drums, high hats, and eels.
Recommendation: Please give Grenada a try for a perfect combination of fun and interesting diving plus the added benefit of a wide assortment of above water sights, sounds, tastes, and aromas.

UW Photo Comments Mid summer in Grenada has daily short rains that kick up debris in the water which makes photography a challenge. Videography is pretty good but some adjustments need to be make to counter the mild greenish tint of the water.
