Comments The bad: The Flamboyant Hotel is showing a little wear & needs some updating, but overall a decent & reasonably priced place to stay. While I was there, they were in the process of updating several rooms in the building I was staying at.

The underwater visibility was not great - 35' mostly, 50' on a good day. Viz was fantastic the days we went over to the Atlantic side of the island, but the currents were very strong. The locals said this is not normal for this time of year there.

The good: Dive Grenada consistently provides great service - they respond promptly to emails, they make all your hotel/dive reservations. The dive guides give thorough briefings & do not rush through dives - they are all good at pointing out some of the little stuff. Boat staff is very helpful. These folks are safety conscious and very protective of their environment.

Hotel staff are friendly and very willing to help you make tour reservations, get you a taxi, recommend restaurants, etc.

This was my 4th trip to Grenada and I will keep going back. There are a ton of fish and lots of life on the reefs. I dove the Bianca C for the first time. It's one of many interesting wrecks in these waters. When we were on the Atlantic side, huge schools of jacks, chubs, etc. and some sleeping sharks. On the Caribbean side, octopus, frogfish, seahorses, stingrays, turtles, and huge schools of grunts & wrasse. Overall diving is the best I've seen in the Caribbean.

Make sure to bring a surface marker/sausage - they prefer that you have a reel.

Can't wait to go again!

UW Photo Comments On the boat, there is a cooler filled with fresh water for cameras. Great for go pros and point & shoots. Would be difficult to accommodate a big rig.
There are always interesting things to photograph - sponges of all colors, tiny critters, juveniles, etc. Lots of color here!
