Comments The bad, the other group got to see the Whale sharks, everything else was above good. Because our panga did not see the whale sharks, the boat stayed an extra day at Darwin for us to try and see one. The viz was poor they said, at times a murky 40 feet. I later talked to 3 guys in the airport who went on the trip after we did and they saw 25 whale sharks with 5 on one dive adn viz was up to 100ft! You can never make an appointment with a fish! "You should have been there last week."
The crew was excellent in all manners except some had problems with english, but there were plenty around to help in that area. 2 dive masters, one for each panga that everyone stayed with the entire 10 days just because they wanted to stay with friends etc.
The boat was in like new condition. The best rooms are down stairs, but the other rooms are more than I've seen on other live aboards. Rooms had private baths and showers and beds were made up every day. Robe provided in the room for the trip.
I highly recommend this operation for advanced divers or divers prepared to dive in currents and surge plus comfortable going out into the blue to see the big schools of Hammerheads and whale sharks.
Got to snorkel with dophins that came around the panga's and they once dive bombed the hammerheads that we were watching on a dive in a protective way, pretty amazing.
This is not a place for pretty corals and lots of schools of pretty small fish, it's for big fish and lot's of them.
Land excursions were also very interesting and we saw the mating riturals of the various birds along with birds on eggs and baby chicks. Saw lots of marine iguanias and even pinquins. Everything you expect to see in the Galopagos we saw.
Food was excellent. This really was a great operation and I've been on well over 25 different live aboards around the world and are at the top of the list.
