Comments this was a second trip to the WBR. My wife does not dive so we toured the north island of new zealand and stopped over in fiji. I was there in April 2010 when ra divers was the operator. At that time I went to the top sites in the bligh waters and the conditions were very good and the diving was great. This time conditions had changed and the weather and wind made going out to the passage on two dives out of the six. Black magic mountain which in 2010 was great was this time murky and and disappointing unless you were right on top of it.We went with Wananavu divers as reef divers were fired. They have two boats but because we were very few divers the small boat was used. The operation is fine and the guide jimmy was great. When went to golden dreams dreammaker, misi misi, and unknown dive site black magic mtn and ventu hwy a new site which was very nice.and the best viz.Wind is the big problem. I was in Palau last may and thought the reefs were somewhat muted in color-but this time in fiji I had the same experience. I was lucky to meet and underwater photographer who took great shots of myself and the dive site at ventu hwy.The food I thought was actually better than 3 years ago. There is snorkeling but the area is murky. Overall I had a nice time but conditions dictate the sites visited and there is no way one can plan this. This time there was no current and there is a mooring line or a piece of coral to hand on to for the safety stop.We did see clown fish, macro subjects, and a sleeping leopard shark 20 feet in front of us.
