Comments This is a great family run dive resort with a friendly and helpful staff. Everyone goes above and beyond to make your stay memorable. Fresh flowers in your room everyday, and everyone greets you with Bula!

The resort was pretty much destroyed in Feb of 2016 by Cyclone/Typhoon Wilson. Neighbors, employees, and past visitors rallied, and the resort has been rebuilt to accommodate non divers as well.

A little tricky getting to Taveuni – You have to fly into Nandi (NAN) and take a commuter flight (19 seats) to Taveuni. Then it’s an hour drive to the resort. ½ hour paved and ½ hour on a gravel road. Terri (one of the owners) picked you up at the airport, and then we were greeted by the staff on arrival and treated to a foot rub while the resort information was given to us.

We opted for Ocean Front bungalow/vale. All rooms have air conditioning, and most have protected out door showers along with “indoor facilities”. There is a pool available for those guests that just want to relax and soak up some sun.

The food was good, and they offer different meal plans, and serve a lot root vegetables (Yucca root/Cassava , Taro, Potatoes). The food is not gourmet quality, but there is a variety of cooking (Fijian, Indian, and fusion).

The diving/snorkeling is better off shore (Rainbow Reef Area) than on the house reef. Most of the corals along the shore were destroyed and are slowly making a comeback. The resort has their own boat and dive shop, and has rental gear available, and offer intro dives and certifications.

The visibility was not as good as I expected. A lot of silt in the water, and the hard corals have quite a bit of damage in the shallow areas even off shore. There were schools of Fusiliers on most wall dives and huge amounts of Anthias. Reef sharks on most dives were common out in the distance, and the usual Titan Triggers and Butterfly Fish were present. Most noticeably missing were shrimps and crabs. We found very few on the dives, and also had not many Nudibranch sightings.

Be sure and bring bug spray for the times mosquitos show up. If you forget, they have a “leftovers” basket in the lobby with leftover sun screen and bug lotion.

We also stayed at another resort (VoliVoli) on the main Island, but if we come back, this will be my return spot. Allan, Terri, and the entire staff are amazing at making you feel like “one of the family”
