Comments [None]Cyclone Winston had hit the Islands pretty hard in Feb '16- 3 months before our trip. We kept in touch with the Nai'a on the conditions- and they had spent a lot of time exploring not only their usual dive sites- some of which were damaged, but exploring new areas. We had been on this boat in 2010, and were excited to dive areas we never could before. As it turned out, we did see some areas badly damaged, but not far away, the reefs were still pristine.
The Nia'a's crew that we had met in '10, were still there- good to see old friends. The boat gets overhauled every year- the cabins are spacious, everything updated. The food is wonderful, and the dive crew experienced- handling all problems quickly. You do have to dive from tenders- but with only 11 divers on this trip, there was plenty of room. (5 of us were over 70!)
Reefs are gorgeous, lots of fish life, sharks and mantas on a lot of dives.

UW Photo Comments [None]Crew carried your cameras to tenders, handed them to you on the dive, carried them back on board, and soaked them in the dip tank after the dive. They have a whole room devoted to cameras- out of the weather- lots of outlets for both US and European chargers.
