Comments The accommodations are fairly basic but the A/C worked as well as the WIFI. The staff did a good job keeping the room clean and with fresh towels. The water pressure was an issue if more than 1 guest was showering at a time. The food was OK. Breakfast was the best meal. The kitchen staff had a tendency to overcook just about everything including the nice fresh local fish. In town, there are several very nice restaurants that have great food. It's definitely worth the bus or cab ride into town (about a mile or so). Don't try walking because there are no sidewalks and the local driving is crazy. Also the restaurant next door at the Evergreen resort is very nice and is a short walk.

The dive operation was SUPERB!!. Nice spacious boats with great crews. We had a family group so we were assigned the same boat and crew for the week. Aaron and Francis did a great job of taking care of us. The AM dives are 2 tanks. The boats have lots of fresh water but no fruit or pastries. Bring your own snacks.

The dive sites were easy to get to -- 20 minutes max. The reefs are in great shape with lots of marine life. Lots of seahorses, frogfish, all kinds of shrimp, hamlets ,drumfish, eels, jawfish, arrow crab, and lots of hawksbill turtles. It is a fabulous place for macro photography.

The shore diving off the dock is pretty good down to about 40'. Lots of eels, drumfish, shrimp, featherduster worms. Watch out for the long, spiny urchins. I got nailed a couple of times trying to get that special photo. Check out the dock pilings for juvenile fish and juvenile octopus.

The little bar is a great place to unwind and deco. Burrs, the bartender, is a great guy and mixes a mean rum punch. Try a lime with the Kubuli beer.

Our package included the whale watch trip and a land excursion. No whales were seen but we did encounter a few dolphin. But we saw lots of dolphin on the dive boat also. The land excursion was worthwhile offering an opportunity to see the interior of the island. It included a swim up a small canyon to a waterfall and then a short hike to some nice larger waterfalls and hot springs.

Dominica is a beautiful island with very good diving. Castle Comfort is indeed comfortable with a very gracious and helpful staff. I will happily be returning to both.
