Comments Cabrits Dive Center was great. Always picked up on time, great DMs and Captain Pete is fun and a good guy. Helen is also a great hostess and full of information about the island. Very nice dive boats, a 20 ft. aluminum boat for small groups, and then Momma's Money II for larger groups, (5 or more). It has a cover and a head.
Watch your stuff, things do get stolen out of the rooms sometime. Don't drive in Dominica, It's left hand side and the roads are very narrow, better to hire a driver.
People are very friendly. They do use the ocean resource, so don't expect to see a lot of large fish, lobster or even octopus, you see a few of these, but not many. There are also fish traps on the bottom capturing everything bigger than an opening in chicken wire. People need to eat. The traps are for their own use, not commercial.
Dominica is still a good value. It takes a little flying to get there, and the runway starts in a canyon and planes sometimes cannot land due to cloudy weather. We had to return all the way to San Juan and try again the next day.
