Comments During prior trips to Curacao we had stayed at the Marriott in Piscadera. This year we decided to stay at Westpunt so we would be able to go to new dive sites. We stayed at the Kura Hulanda Lodge ([kurahulanda.com link]). The Lodge is not a hotel, and is not on par with the Marriott. That said, once you adjust your attitude, the accommodations were fine. You need to rent a car and buy food; the rooms are equipped with small refrigerators and kitchenettes. Preparing your own food is less expensive and faster than eating at the Lodge's restaurants. The staff at the Lodge could not have been friendlier or more helpful. D&D Car rental ([ddcarrental.com link]) were also very accommodating; they drove up to the Lodge with the car, and met us at the airport for drop=off.
Finally, we were very satisfied with the dive operation at the Lodge, Go West Divers. I had called with some questions before we left home, and when we arrived everything was waiting for us. Their equipment was also in top condition, the dive leaders were all very professional, and the tanks were always filled to capacity. The shop was very helpful. Andreas, Rafael, and Daniel were all excellent dive leaders, and their enthusiasm for diving and the sea was contagious.
