Comments I've known the staff who run the dive shop, work as Dive Masters and support for about five years now. In the past I typically did my recreational diving with another operator on the island where all these guys used to work. I've also done some diving in the past with Steve Belmont, who started Tres Pelicanos (Steve, Servando and Pony). When Steve started his own dive op, I felt pretty good about diving with them. I really felt at home for one because I knew everyone, but also because how friendly and helpful they all are. They all really take good care of their divers and are concerned with safety and of course fun diving. They have good shop facilities and an awesome boat, Skinny Shark. Most of the boats I've been on when diving the waters of Cozumel have been smaller panga type boats. I like them because they are small, and fairly fast but the drawback is they lack room on the deck. The Skinny Shark is a little different. It is a smaller boat and very fast, but has a much wider deck space so there is a lot of room on a boat that isn't very large. It supports up to 10 divers easily along with the crew. With Tres Pelicanos you can dive your own profiles, they don't restrict what you want to do as long as it is safe diving within recreational limits. They provide the tanks and weights on the boat and can have Nitrox/EAN waiting for you on board with some advanced notice. The crew is willing to take your gear back to the shop after diving, rinse and dry it and have it waiting for you on the boat when you get picked up in the morning so you don't have to worry about carrying it and washing it yourself. The general procedures in the morning are you either are brought to the boat at the harbor, Caleta, or you get picked up at your hotel dock. Then, depending on the conditions, divers can vote for the spots they'd like to dive that day. The boat has water, snacks and a good shade cover on it so you can get out of the sun if you want. Tres Pelicanos is the recreational operator to pick if you're taking a dive trip to Cozumel.
