Comments I've been going to SCC for years so I am familiar with the dive resort. It is essentially a place for divers. Advantage is that it is a short walk to the town of San Miguel, so non-divers can find things to do. Disadvantage is that it is a long boat ride to most of the dive sites. But the boat ride can be a place to meet your fellow divers and socialize.
The staff at the resort has been there for years and they get to know you over time. Meals are good and are included in the dive packages.
I have excellent experience with the dive operation there. Since we go regularly we get the same one or two dive masters depending on our group size. Boats are comfortable and have heads on them. Plenty of water and juice on board but bring your own snacks.
Diving was excellent this year. Very few lionfish this year which was a pleasant surprise as the dive masters kill any they find. I saw one small one during the whole week. Several sharks, eagle rays, eels, octopi (spelling?) and turtles along with the usual reef fish.
The park operation has really gone strict on protecting the reef and fish within the park.

UW Photo Comments Boats have shelves and camera tanks. Biggest problem for photographers can be the currents depending on the day and site. Some dives the current was ripping, but most days this trip they were light.
