Comments As this was not our first visit to Scuba Club, we knew what to expect. When we booked this trip earlier in the year, many locations were not open or had draconian COVID guidelines. We decided Mexico was our safest bet for easy in and out, although we still had to test to re-enter the US (the last day before that restriction was lifted.)

We were diving with another couple who had never been on the island and are newer divers, although with good skills. We selected Scuba Club due to proximity to the town (walking distance) and the cost. It was substantially less than other resorts. The downside is you have a longer boat ride to the reefs. We did not mind. Upside is easy access to all that San Miguel has to offer.

Rooms are clean, roomy with small refrigerators, but nothing here is luxurious. Daily maid service was nice. We stayed near the top of the resort and received assistance with dive bags upon leaving. (lots of stairs) When we requested a room switch after the first night for a king bed, we were immediately accommodated.

The bar scene does not exist and we were never present in the evenings as we left the resort. One afternoon we played cards around the pool, and after ordering multiple beverages were asked what we were celebrating! We got a laugh out of that!

We were on the breakfast and lunch package, with two morning dives. Food was plentiful and quite acceptable with many choices. We were assigned to the same boat and DM for the week and were very happy with the boat and facilities. Absolutely no complaints. Our DM has been diving in Coz for over 30 years and knew the sites well.

Most dives had healthy corals and lots of fish. There were one or two reefs that were dead, not sure if due to water temps or storms. We enjoyed many swim throughs on various reefs. We saw a couple sharks, turtles, and all other manner of local fish. Currents were easy to handle, typical drift diving. We have been in Coz in the past where the currents were extreme, but this was not the case.

We went out to dinner at various restaurants during our week, and had wonderful meals. All in all a very successful dive vacation.
