Comments In a word, fantastic. Jeremy and the crew did a great job, every day. We stayed at the Iberostar and the Jewfish, a nice fast boat, picked us up every day around 8am.

Jeremy picked 2 dive sites a day depending upon conditions and experience levels within the boat. There was a maximum of 8 divers on the boat, 2 crew, and Jeremy.

Entry was over the railing, which is nice (I hate standing up and shuffling to the dive platform with everyone else) and the Jewfish is quick - it took only minutes to get to our dive sites.

All diving in Cozumel is drift diving, and we encountered a couple of different forms of it during our trip (6 days of diving). Each dive begins with everyone getting together on the bottom to make sure all is well and then we head out.

One of the big differentiators for me is that Jeremy provides steel tanks (with DIN if you like), 95's and 120's. This is a very different diving experience than using aluminum 80's. Also, he lets you run - our longest dive was almost 2 hours. This makes for a great, stress free environment.

Jeremy was able to work with divers of different skill sets on the boat, offering timely advice or assistance only on an as needed, when needed basis.

During our dives, we saw turtles, eels, sharks, lobster, sponges, corals, structure, swim throughs, anemones, etc. We saw lots of stuff. There's still a bit of sand here and there on top of the reefs from the hurricanes (the last time I dove Cozumel was in 96). The dive wasn't rushed, you did what you wanted with your buddy (there were 3 of us) and Jeremy was always there lending a watchful, yet unobtrusive, eye.

Because it's drift diving, when it was time to begin returning to the surface, Jeremy would shoot a bag to the surface and we would begin our ascent. You went up when it was time for you to go up - one person or buddy team going up was not the end of the dive. At the same time I believe you need to foster beginners early in their learning to make sure they keep coming back, I don't like cutting my own dive short just because they run out of air. Jeremy let you dive according to your abilities.

Jeremy was always able to find something to look at - we saw a couple of juvenile trunk fish, which are great. I had never seen them before - they look like little bumble bees. I don't know how he found them.

On the surface, the boat would position down current, you approached the boat, removed your bc in the water and then the crew would lift that in. Next remove fins and climb out on ladder. All very comfortable and safe. Sit down, have some water and fresh fruit; maybe a candy or two (provided on boat).

Living Underwater provides valet diving - once you bring your gear on board, you don't touch it again. Unless you want to. They change the tanks out for you during your surface interval. The surface interval is spent at a beach complete with shower, food, beverage, and trinkets available for purchase. The food and service was great.

All in all, diving with Living Underwater is what it should be, good people, great diving, and excellent service. We will be back to dive with Jeremy and his fantastic crew (already scheduled return flights).
