Comments Diving with Living Underwater (Jeremy Anschel, owner) was an extraordinary experience. We were looking for a dive operation that was geared for seasoned divers and we were not interested with the hotel dive shop. Based on all the Undercurrent member reviews of Cozumel dive operators, Living Underwater seemed to have what we were looking for. We were extremely pleased with our choice.

All paperwork and a deposits were submitted prior to our arrival via emails and website (www.living-underwater.com). Once we arrived at our hotel, we called Jeremy for the time to meet at the hotel dock on the following morning (7:45 am).

The dive boat for the week was the Jewfish. The canopied 32-foot fast boat has twin outboards and is very stable through any swells. We handed our gear to Jeremy and his crew, Francisco and Ricardo, who set up our gear for us. We never had to set it up the entire week. The crew handed out snacks, fruit, water, and soft drinks which were available the entire time while onboard. The boat is designed perfectly for comfort for a maximum of 8 divers. Each diver has his/her own stowage under the seat. There are two tanks secured between each diver to provide maximum room on the seat. Cushions are provided for the ride. Marine radio and oxygen is on board. After each dive, towels are provided and parkas are available if wanted. No head is on board, but all surface intervals were at a full service beach (Playa Palancar) to purchase food, drink, restroom, gazebos, and lounge chairs.

Jeremy leads the dives at a slow pace, taking time to search for and point out interesting marine life. Jeremy supplies larger 120 steel tanks and Nitrox which allows bottom times to exceed 60 minutes on every dive.

I won’t describe the spectacular drift diving since Cozumel is never a disappointment and I would only be repeating what others have already written in Undercurrent. But what made it world class diving is the dive operation. We will dive with Jeremy and Living Underwater again.

We stayed at the Aura Cozumel and it was all that you could ask for in an all-inclusive; great beach, great food, incredible rooms, perfect service. We never needed to leave the resort for anything other than to dive.
