Comments Have been to Fiesta Americana off and on for about 30 years. Usually one visit every 2 years or so. Keep coming back when I want to do Cozumel diving due to several reasons: All inclusive package with a reasonable price, very good experience for non-diving family members, nice swim up bar, very good food, fair beach (a rarity n Cozumel), their dive contractor is Dive House which is an excellent / polished operation (and some of their dive masters know / remember me), and their concierge services will refer you to quality / safe activities outside the hotel.
What can I say about the diving? Well you will see classic and consistent Cozumel drift diving with 150 foot visibility. You will see enough medium to small Caribbean reef fish to satisfy even the most jaded world traveling diver. However, encounters with large pelagic critters and reef sharks will be rare. Did see one reef shark on this trip. Nurse sharks, Sting rays and eagle rays (seasonal) and turtles are common. Not hard to find octopus.
The attraction for me has been that this is easy to get to, relatively inexpensive, reliable and consistent, suitable for families with non-diver and children. Also, in the COVID era, COVID related travel and Mexicann emigration clearance is not too cumbersome.
