Comments Have been going to Coz for 20 years now, with most of that time with Blue Angel Divers. New Canadian owners took over in the fall of 2008. They are working very hard on sprucing up the hotel and it shows. But unlike the previous owner, they were visibly much more interested in the hotel than the dive operation.

After an absence of 2 years, I must admit getting sticker shock after seeing the prices at the dive shops in Cozumel -- most are now charging $65 and up for two-tank dives. Blue Angel is now over $70 for non-guests of the hotel. I dove with them for 12 days so was able to negotiate the price down a little with the new owner (mostly by dropping the included lunch). But I was at least glad to see that most of the previous, experienced divemasters were still there.

The boat departure schedule was recently changed to leave earlier, but it didn't seem to matter -- they were usually running 15-30 minutes late, sometimes more. The service was still good, but I never got the divemaster I requested. Also never received a single tank over 2800psi (most were in the 2300-2600 range). I complained to 3 different people at the shop about this, but still never received a full tank. They also refused to adjust the price at the end because of it. That will be my last time with Blue Angel.
