Comments Weather conditions were horrible, but Aldora absolutely busted their butts to get our group of 7 out in a safe manner. The weather was pretty bad on Saturday, Sunday and Monday. Better on Tuesday.

We were really impressed (again) by Memo's dedication to finding a safe way to get us out. We were "skunked" on Saturday afternoon, the day of arrival.

On Sunday, we dove the east side, which was somewhat calm, though very cold. Memo and his team searched around and found an area on the southeast corner. The conditions were certainly sub-optimal, but they made it work. They routinely provided us with parkas before and after the dives.

On Monday, the wind shifted straight from the north. The harbor was closed and diving was not allowed by local authorities. Memo met us on the east side again and, finding conditions not to our liking, consulted his crew, got their input and devised a plan to dive the south end. He sent the two small boats to meet us in the Punta Sur park. Much better day of diving. They worked very hard at making this happen, but not with unacceptable safety risks. We would have understood, and frankly, expected him to cancel diving for the day. But he found the one place on that island that was acceptable under those weather conditions and went way out of his way to make that happen. Aldora was the only dive operator operating in Cozumel that day.

On Tuesday, the west side was pretty much back to normal and we had two great dives, more typical of Cozumel.

We're all experienced divers and have used many operators throughout the Caribbean. Aldora continues to be the best without question.
