Comments I've been staying at the Hotel Cozumel & Resort for 10 consecutive years after a break of several years. Also stayed there a number of years prior to my break from going to Cozumel. A solid 3-star hotel that is clean, accommodating and budget-friendly. I paid $1,130 total for two people for eight nights with an all-inclusive plan. I would rate the food as "very good" if one likes a menu leaning toward Mexican specialties. I think the menu during my stay was accommodating the primarily Mexican clientele that was there during my stay. The day before we checked out, a large number of Americans checked in and I suspect the menu shifted to more "American" in nature. It has in past years when I've stayed there. All in all, it feels like I'm coming "home" when I check in and a number of the staff remember me from years past. For me, no reason to stay anywhere else.

As for the diving, I always use Aldora. We're always on fast boats with a maximum of 6 divers. Most divers (myself included) use the steel 120 cu. ft. tanks with EAN 32 for the first dive and EAN 36 for the second dive. The dive boat usually picks us up at the hotel dock around 7:45 AM and we return to the dock around 2:15 PM, sometimes a little later. Shortest dive time (for ten dives) was 63 minutes. The other nine dives averaged 1 hour 30 minutes. Two dives of these lengths are all I need each day. Divemaster Rich was outstanding.
