Comments Flat ocean on the trip to and from Cocos Island. The dive masters were great with predive instructions which can be very important with some of the strong currents in the area. Although most everyone comes to Cocos(myself included)to see big fish, I really enjoyed all of the smaller life that exist here. At one site as I leaned over a wall waiting for hammerheads to pass by, an octopus grabbed my preasure gauge that had been bumping its head. On another sight while again waiting for hammerheads I was constantly harrassed by several reef fish just dying to have their photos taken. Large schools of Jacks, Green Morays, Turtles, Mobula and Manta rays swimming together. On one dive, we were moments away from seeing a white tip give birth but ran out of air before the big event. And speaking of white tips, don't miss the night dives off Isla Manulita. The ocean becomes carpeted with them. It was incredible! And I should mention hammerheads on nearly every dive. One school numbered over 100.
I want to thank Dive master Victor Hugo who has a great sense of humour and Captain nelson Dias for such a well planned trip. Also thanks to all of the staff that make you feel like your at a 5 star hotel.
