Comments Capitalism has reached Cocos Island. There is now a $35 per person per day head tax while diving without so much as a T-shirt.
The ARGO is the transport vessel for a deep submersible research vessel that is available to divers for a ride down to 300 meters! At a mere $900 a person! Not worth it except for bragging rights. The submersible dictates where the ARGO would anchor. The boat crew would not move the boat once it was anchored so no diving was offered at the west side of the island. The ARGO is plush with large staterooms and the "Concierge" goes out of his way to keep everyone satisfied
Pius (pronounced pyoos) was the only downer on the trip except for the rain. His arrogance was basically a "My Boat--My way" or don"t dive. Management was informed of this by several of the guests. They said to mention this when booking your next trip and they would be sure he wasn't on our boat. So somebody else gets this jerk.

UW Photo Comments Rainy conditions diminished light and color. Lots of white tip sharks but limited hammerheads and tigers. The country's 1997 ban on fishing within 12 miles of the island has generated an abundance of fish.
