Comments 10 DAY TRIP ON THE SEAHUNTER, A FINE VESSEL, VERY WELL KEPT. EXCELLENT CREW, AND ATTITUDE. MEALS WERE BEST I'VE EVER HAD ON A LIVEABOARD. WEATHER WAS OVERCAST AND RAINING MOST OF THE TIME...DON'T PLAN ON GETTING A SUNTAN!

GREAT HAMMERHEAD ACTION! THE WHITE TIP SHARK NIGHT DIVE AT MANUELITA WAS SPECTACULAR! SLEEPING WHITE TIPS AND MOBULA RAYS SCATTERED ABOUT ON ALMOST EVERY DIVE. THIS WAS SUSTAINED DEEP DIVING, WHERE WE WOULD PLANT OURSELVES IN A "NOOK OR CRANNY" AND WAIT FOR THE SHOW TO BEGIN. 17 OF THE 23 DIVES WERE IN EXCESS OF 100 FSW. MAKE SURE YOU'RE NITROX CERTIFIED (OR PLAN TO TAKE THE COURSE ON THE BOAT DURING THE 36 HOUR CROSSING) OR RISK SURFACING ALONE. IF YOU'RE PRONE TO SEASICKNESS, BRING THE CORRECT MEDICATION...THE SEAS CAN "ROCK AND ROLL" PRETTY GOOD DURING THE CROSSINGS.

HAD SEVERAL OPPORTUNITIES TO PHOTO THE ELUSIVE RED LIPPED BATFISH, IN 50 FSW.

THE MOST FASCINATING DIVE WAS "IN THE BLUE", AT ABOUT 30 FSW, WATCHING, FOR ABOUT 30 MINUTES, BOTTLENOSE DOLPHIN HUNTING CREVALLE JACKS. RATHER THAN DARTING IN AND SNATCHING ONE BEFORE IT COULD REACT, THE DOLPHIN WOULD "RUN DOWN" THE JACK, CHASING RIGHT BEHIND IT RELENTLESSLY FOR AS LONG AS A MINUTE, UNTIL THE JACK WAS SPENT, WHEN IT WOULD GOBBLE IT UP...REMINDED ME OF A CHEETAH CHASING DOWN A GAZELLE. WATCHED MULTIPLE HUNTS, ALL PLAYING OUT TO THE SAME UNFORTUNATE OUTCOME FOR THE JACK, REGARDLESS TO WHATEVER EVASIVE TACTICS THE JACK WOULD TRY, INCLUDING SWIMMING BACK INTO THE SCHOOL. THE DOLPHIN NEVER LOST ITS FOCUS ON THAT ONE POOR FISH UNTIL THE END. ONLY ONE LUCKY JACK EVADED DEATH BECAUSE, RIGHT TOWARDS THE END OF THE CHASE ANOTHER DOLPHIN CAME OUT OF NOWHERE TO TRY TO STEAL THE JACK FROM THE DOLPHIN HUNTING IT, CONFUSING THE ISSUE, AND THE JACK GOT TO LIVE ANOTHER DAY.
