Comments Great time diving with Rich Coast Diving – we dove 6 days in a row with them in early November, 2012. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Special thanks to Byron for fixing me up with a replacement reg by incorporating my own dive computer when mine blew out on the very first day. We were picked up from our hotel each morning early at the time that we were told to expect the driver — which doesn’t always happen in a lot of countries that we have dove.
We would meet at the shop, be offered coffee or water, and asked if there was anything else that we required for that day’s diving. All our gear was taken out to the boat for us (except for my camera) and then we would have a few minutes walk down to the beach where we were picked up by a small boat to the main dive boat. Entry was by giant stride, and exit was by removal of fins and walking up ladder to sit on edge of boat where staff removed your BCD. Surface interval always had cookies and fresh sweet pineapple as well as juice or water. Dove in small groups (never any more than 4 to a dive guide).
Viz wasn’t great, but was what was expected. Saw lots of rays of all kinds and some sharks and turtles. Many thanks to dive guides Jorge and Maureen who pointed out some great macro stuff, including clown shrimps, sea horses, and oranguatan crabs.
The first day did not have a dedicated water bucket for cameras, but without even asking for it, the staff had one for me every other day. Having one that was marked “for cameras only” would be nice so that other divers wouldn’t dip their masks into the camera bucket. No camera table either, but the boat otherwise was very comfortable and spacious.
Would really recommend using Rich Coast if you are diving in this area. They really went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful dive vacation.
