Comments I was a bit skeptical before diving, expecting visibility to be an issue. However, both 2 tank morning dives were INCREDIBLE! The waters were unusually calm and visibility ranged from 25-50 ft. Our sites were Sombreros, Dirty Rock, Catalina Classic, and Flat Rock. SOMBREROS: Saw a nurse shark, long trumpet fish, schools of Jack Fish, puffers, 4 green morrays (one out of the rocks). During this entire dive we heard whale sounds. One our way to the next dive a school of white spotted dolphins decided to dance with our boat for several minutes while a lesser devil ray jumped out of the water. DIRTY ROCK: 12 ft Manta Ray, Tigersnake eel, 5 green morrays, schools of jacks, schools of angels, golden phase puffer, spotted porcupinefish. CATALINA CLASSIC: My dive leader claims this was the best dive of his life! Definitely mine! On the way down to our 60 ft depth a 14 ft Manta Ray swam overhead. Going into a channel, I spotted a green morray, a few minutes later 2 whitetip sharks were on the bottom. Later saw a 4 ft cornetfish, 4 whitetip sharks lined up on the bottom like airplanes waiting to take off. Later 2 baby nurse sharks were in a cave, one swam out. I was the first to run out of air. During my safety check with the dive leader, we saw 2 schools (30-50 in each school) of golden cownose rays swim below us. What a site to see. The dive shop claims these hadn't been seen in 2 years. On the way to our next dive we several humpback whales surfaced in the distance along with a lesser devil ray jumping out of the water. The staff and crew were amazing! Noe and Hannah were our dive leaders.
