Comments Brac Reef Resort is well-kept and offers nice rooms, a large pool and hot tub, a two-story dock with hammocks, tennis court, and good sized beach. Meals are served buffet style in a central hall. The food was consistently good to excellent. There is a small bar and if you are on a "drinks included" plan check out the rules early on. Wifi is available in the office and reaches some rooms and the bar area. They have a relatively large and well stocked dive shop if you forget anything. Diving is done on custom Newtons and the crew handles everything but wetsuits and cameras. We had our group of 14 plus up to 6 extra on our boat and were very comfortable. The diving was better than average Caribbean diving and we made one trip to Bloody Bay Wall on Little Cayman. You can dive your own profile or follow the DM who will point out critters. Our DMs Ken and Barbie (really) were outstanding and kept us laughing and having a great time the entire week. They did great briefings but were serious about check-ins and check-outs. Three boat dives a day are offered with an optional night dive once or twice a week. Nitrox is available and you analyze your own tanks at the dive shop. There is no shore diving from the resort. We rented a van and did several shore dives both in the afternoon and at night. Radar Reef was an easy shore dive off a concrete boat launch and several night dives there provided octopi, squid, hunting eels and rays, slipper and caribbean lobsters and all the usual night-time suspects. Air tanks are available at the resort for no extra charge. Having a van also allowed us to explore the island, visiting bat caves and a bird reserve. One of our group did some flyfishing right in front of and near the resort and hooked several bonefish. With no shopping or night-life, Brac Reef Resort is a great peaceful getaway for those who want quiet time, good accomodations and food, and easy, better than average Caribbean diving.
