Comments We found the accommodations at the Marriott to be much nicer than many had stated in previous issues. There really is a small beach area that probably becomes non existant with higher tides. We were able to walk the entire 7- mile beach going in either direction from our hotel. The resort was convient to many places and we even walked to Georgtown.

We used Redbarron for our deep dives, but they were unable to accomodate us for diving in stingray city.No one told us that there are actually 2 stingray citys. One that is waist deep and the other about 15 feet.We used Redsail sports for this trip. They gave a very good briefing. They are fine for a dive as easy as this, but they had huge boats that would hold many people. We were lucky and there were only 4 of us that day. A couple that was on our boat was told it was good for snorkling as well as diving. This really was not the case, they needed to be at the sandbar location. You really do have to be careful feeding the stingrays. My husband had one latch onto his arm which drew blood and instantly left a huge bruise that was swollen for days later.

Redbarron is good for the advanced diver who wants a small boat and to do their own thing. My husband and I felt that they gave an ok briefing and on the second dive told us to do our own thing. On the first dive Parick guided us and took along his camera. About mid way thru the dive his camera was not working and he signaled that all of us stay where we were and he went back to the boat to drop off his camera. We felt that this should have been done on his own time rather than leave us wait and use air!

We found the island to be very quiet this time of the year, and as everyone says, expensive!
We would not go back, the diving is much better in Belize.
