Comments This was our third trip so we obviously like the diving and the resort. The big concern has been that new owner Susan Howard, daughter and heiress of Gladys, would not have the connection and desire to keep the Pirates Point Resort we all love. The great news is that she does and is. One night at dinner she told us what she thought when she visited the new "resort" and dealt with the rats, lack of electricity, etc!

The weather started improving the day we arrived (from unseasonably rainy and windy) and by the time we left was sunny and fairly calm. We could dive Bloody Bay and Jackson Bight each day.

Their schedule is fairly unique - leisurely morning departing around 9:00 and returning for lunch around 2:30 following two tanks. Snacks at 6:30 and dinner at 7:30. Dinner was buffet style. The food remains absolutely first rate. Because we are not drinkers while diving, our package price was reduced in cost without us even inquiring.

We stayed in Room 7, the newest room, which is very bright and cheerful. Previously we had opted for the oceanfront rooms but now prefer AC. It's in the same building as the dive operation but we didn't notice any impact.

We dove most dives on NITROX. The tanks are filled at another dive shop and you analyze your own by morning.

All the dive guides take their roles in safety and creature finding seriously and Michelle found us some exotic fish and creatures.

They are aggressively culling lion fish and it shows. We did see a few but not on every dive.

UW Photo Comments On the boat there is a rinse box and a dry table. At the resort there is a fresh water sink. When there was more than one rig, things were tight and one camera was rinsed in the box and placed on the table.
