Comments Easy diving for our return to the water post-pandemic. The uncrowded East End has the island’s superior diving. Ocean Frontiers, a concierge dive operation, sets up all of your equipment and takes great care with both safety and enjoyment. No rush, with pleasurable dive masters on comfortable boats, and you dive your own profile after in-water orientation.
The topography of the coral structures is the highlight of most dives with crags and crannies and swim-throughs sloping to white sand, plus lovely sea fans, rods and whips. Sea life consists of your basic reef fish, but rather sparse, with only the occasional schools. Some bleaching but overall healthy coral.
The only drawback with staying in the East End is the 45 minute drive into town and back with numerous roundabouts. Standout restaurants include: Aqua, Blue Cilantro, Avecita, Kaibo Upstairs, and the overpriced Blue. Nearby Tukka is charming, local Jerk Chicken on the weekends is a marvel and the Lionfish tacos at the Ocean Frontiers restaurant are exceptional.
