Comments The resort was great. Very laid back. Our "room" was a one-bedroom condo - walked out on the deck, down 4 steps and was on the beach looking at the ocean. Sliding door was a challenge. Probably too much salt air. Other than trash collection, housekeeping was an extra fee; however, our unit was equipped with a washer/dryer so we washed and/or dried towels as needed and that worked out perfectly.

Dive operation was very smoother. "Roll Out of Bed Diving" - they handle all your gear so no lugging stuff up and down the pier. Very relaxing. I did have a slight issue with the deep dives. Divemaster briefs the upcoming dive by saying "max depth is 100' - and you don't have to go that deep." Standard stuff; however, if you chose to follow the DM they inevitably went to the 100' limit - or further. I shouldn't have followed that profile, but then I didn't want to miss out on anything. First deep dive was 91'; second swim thru brought me out at 128', third 102' and fourth 97'. I am a senior citizens and should not have gone so deep, and even though I followed my computer's profile and safety stops I still got the skin bends. Thanks to articles about this that I'd read in Undercurrent as well as other publications I recognized the symptoms and called DAN the morning after symptoms appeared: itchy skin on my thighs and abdomen, very tender abdominal muscles and slight dizziness the evening before. DAN confirmed the diagnosis and I went to the hospital in Georgetown. I was very lucky to have had only a mild case. The doctor administered oxygen for about 60 min and sent me on my way with advice: do not dive so deep, use nitrox whenever possible, and don't do a weeks worth of 2-tank dives without taking a day off in between.

Due to a slight wind we had to dive on the south side of the island. Maybe it was the weather, but there were hardly any fish. Big or little. Corals were lovely, and on our fourth day of diving we saw two very inquisitive reef sharks and a turtle. Other than that - very few fish. I usually come home with 100+ photos - this time I have less than 50.

In spite of the above I had lots of fun - diving with good friends and just being in the water makes for a good day. However, I don't think I'll be returning.
