Comments Rooms have been nicely upgraded since my last trip in 2007. Buffet-style food service continues to be plentiful, diverse, and very good. One diver in our group made advance arrangements for her special dietary needs, and those needs were accommodated without fanfare.

The boats are 46-foot Newtons; trips to the north side of the island (Bloody Bay and Jackson's Bight) took ~ 30 minutes. Each morning was a two-tank trip and there was a single-tank trip each afternoon. Night dives were offered (if enough divers signed up) on Tuesday and Thursday.

Our group had the same crew most of the week (Warren and Sharon), and they were some of the best I’ve encountered in 30 years of dive travel.

Once gear is set up on the boat, the tanks, wet belts, and BCs stay on the boat for the week. The crew hoses down the gear at the end of each dive trip. Divers set them selves on the stern of the boat, and the crew brings your tank to you. After each dive, they take the tank off your back, and set up the BC and regulators on a fresh tank for the next dive.

At the dock, there is an open-air shed for hanging and drying wet suits, and two large rinse tanks with fresh water spigots to wash dive gear. Unlike Bonaire, where there is rampant theft of items left unattended, one can leave one’s gear comfortably at the unlocked facilities at the Little Cayman Beach Resort. Thus, one has very little need to drag gear between one’s room and the boat, and cameras can soak in the fresh water camera tanks for hours without worry.

Little Cayman is one of my favorite Caribbean destinations, and I heartily recommend Reef Divers and the Little Cayman Beach Resort.

UW Photo Comments Boats had camera tables that accommodated our group (15-17), but no fresh water soak/rinse tanks. There was a fresh water hose aboard, and the divemasters gave cameras a cursory rinse after taking them from the diver on returning to the boat. Good soak/rinse tanks provided on shore.
