Comments I have been diving in Grand Cayman several times, but this was my first time in Little Cayman. My husband and I considered Pirate's Point and the Southern Cross Club, but selected Little Cayman Beach Resort and Reef Divers (the house dive operation) for several reasons: wanted to dive three dives a day, value of package, recommendations from other undercurrent divers and the dive operation.

If your partner does not dive, Little Cayman is not the place for you. There is really nothing to do, except lounge by the pool or in a hammock. There is no shopping, fine dining, exciting nightlife. There is a spa across the street.

The rooms have all been recently renovated and it showed. We stayed in an ocean front room, room 305. This was an upper level unit and the room had cathedral ceilings, making the room seem much larger. I knew the rooms had been renovated, but I was pleasantly surprised at how nice everything was. Premium toiletries provided (soap, shower gel, shampoo, conditioner and lotion). Our view was worth the extra price. We also had a outdoor patio.

You place your gear bag outside your room the first day and the staff brings it onboard for you. The entire week, your BC and reg stay on the boat. You can rinse your wetsuit, booties, etc. and hang them in a drying facility just off the dock. So, you are not lugging your gear back and forth to your room all week. So, if you hesitate to get a second floor room, no worries.

Even in 86 degree water, I tend to get cold. I dove with a fleece lined dive skin and a vest underneath. I also wore a Caribbean dive cap. My husband alternated between a shortie or a swimsuit and rash guard.

Sharon and Ben were our dive crew for the week. They were outstanding. Everyone on staff was friendly and fun to be around.

Three meals a day in the same dining room, with the same staff and the same guests never got boring. There was a great selection that changed daily. The food was delicious.

The diving was outstanding. New divers and experienced divers a like have plenty to explore. We went to two brand new dive sites, which was fun. It is not very often your dive master is diving the site for the first time, right along with you.

Free WiFi was provided in the rate. The signal was strong and I had no problems.

The beach is lovely, complete with lounge chairs and hammocks. It is not a swimmable beach though. There is a lot of turtle grass you would have to swim past before you get to a sandy bottom and turquoise water.

Before we boarded the plane to go home, my husband wanted to know when we would be coming back. Very soon I hope!

Schedule for the week: on the boat by 8:10 am, two dives in the morning. First dive 110' for 50 minutes, second dive 60' for 60 minutes. Back for lunch between 11:30 and noon. Lunch. On the boat 1:50 for afternoon dive, 60' for 60 minutes. Back between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. Rinse and dry gear. Relax by the pool. Cocktail. Shower and change for dinner. Cocktail on the patio. Lights out.
