Comments I have used Indigo Divers in Grand Cayman (www.indigodivers.com) on two occasions now, most recently in March, 2008 and can say it is a dive operation like no other, PERIOD! Forget 5 Star service, Chris and his wife Kate deliver 6 Star service consistently. Both are expert guides who are totally focused on their guests having the best dive experience ever. They are knowledgeable about all the local "critters" and are eager to point them out. Instead of diving the well beaten reefs of Seven Mile Beach, they take you to sites on the North and South shore, weather permitting. The reefs there appear to be in better shape than Seven Mile. They operate only small trips (6 divers or less) on a 35' Donzi cruiser that is more like a mini yacht. This boat is both fast, comfortable on rough seas and luxurious. The aft deck sitting area provides full protection from wind, weather and sun. For the sun worshipers, there's plenty of space on the foredeck. Between dive snacks include cookies, soft drinks and fresh fruit. I can't recall even getting two of those on a dive boat. It was through Indigo Divers that I first was exposed to the South Shore of Grand Cayman which has some of the most spectacular shallow dives I've ever been on. These sites (Bullwinkle's and Laura's reef) are 35-60 feet deep, have deep canyons, many swim-throughs including a large 80 foot long tunnel, and a wide variety of coral formations and critters. The North side is also spectacular with choices of dive sites. One, Eagle Ray Pass was true to its name as several were observed off in the deep. The lobster population seems to be exploding on the North Shore as well as are the turtles. Indigo Divers are the only dive operation who can take you to the "Money Reef" -- forget fish, my son found $5 CY stuck in the coral <G>. Due to offshore storms, the seas were rougher than is usual for Grand Cayman and the vis was less than the ideal Caymans are noted for. Nonetheless, the afternoon dives were enjoyable. On one trip, my son and I were the only divers on board. Talk about feeling pampered. If there could be a Ritz-Carlton of dive operations, then Indigo Divers would surely be it. I'll surely be back. Why on earth would you want to get on a cattle boat when you can be on the Indigo "yacht" for the same price?? Our lodging at the Marriott Beachfront has taken a significant drop in quality from previous trips there, rooms were damp and air cond weak. Outside facilities were good, but considering the service we received from the front desk (had to change rooms due to a flood from upstairs) I will stay elsewhere. Fav restaurants are Mezza, Calipso Grill and the Wharf
