Comments While I have been a diver almost as long as Ben Davidson,I still love Cayman. Ben and I have disagreed for years about diving in Cayman. He has a deep seated predjuice against the place so there's never a friendly article about it. He talks about feeding the Stingrays as being most dangerous because of a moray incident but never says anything about Stewart Coves shark feeding in the Bahamas or dolphin pens at Anthony's Key. Cayman was where I learned to love to dive and it's still a dammed good place to go underwater. The island was hammered by Ivan. Trees are down and someplaces are still shambles (Indies Suites amoung others). The blowholes are gone (filled up) so are Cayman Diving Lodge and believe it or not Bob Sotos as well as several other dive operations. However the reef survived nicely and the diving is still easy, convienent and still a dam site better than most places in the close proximity to the USA. Fisheye has a very comfortable boat and the divemasters (Matty, Sean and Joanna) were friendly and competent. Go see Cayman diving for yourself.

UW Photo Comments After "Ivan",Fisheye has lost its shop. Calls are transfered to a cell phone - business is conducted in the beach parking lot. A new shop is in the final stages of preparation and completion. Not certain it will be as much as a photographer heaven as before. Seems like everyone on the island involved in diving is struggling at present.
