Comments First time to Cobalt Coast, although we have been beach diving at DiveTech's other locations for years. Ari, the General Manager greeted everyone as we got off the shuttle from the airport and helped get divebags off the shuttle. Very personable and customer service oriented, as is the rest of Ari's crew. The one bedroom suite was spacious and comfortable. The resort is smaller than I thought, but very nice and a relaxing atmosphere. We got the full meal plan. Breakfast is buffet style, several types of cooked eggs, pancakes, french toast (my favorite), bacon, sausage etc. Bagels were also an option. Lunch is from a menu, as is dinner. Every meal was good and they were a big help in dealing with my wife's MSG allergy. No complaints.
DiveTech was not a surprise for us. We have dove through their other location for beach diving for many years and new Nancy Easterbrook ran a good operation. The three of us were on the larger boat along with 9-12 other divers, depending on the day. We did not feel crowded. We dove the north wall on dive one every day and a shallow reef on the way back to Cobalt Coast for dive 2. Briefings were detailed and helpful with drawings on the dry-erase board. Beautiful wall diving. Loved the freedom of more bottom time on both dives. Our personal dives were normally 45-50 minutes on dive one and one hour on dive two. Some dive guides would show divers critters, some would not as much.
We enjoyed the beach diving in front of Cobalt Coast. Easy in and out. There was alot of critters and sometimes turtles and larger fish on the sand flats on the way to and from the mini-wall.
Would we stay at Cobalt Coast again? Absolutely and plan to in 2010.
