Comments Our second trip to the Brac and 5th to the Cayman Beach Resort chain - that should say it all. Diving in the Caymans is excellent for the Caribbean. A little more silt this trip probably due to the time of year, but even so, viz very good at +50' on every dive. Dive guides use what they call "valet diving", ie they put your gear on the tank, place it on your shoulders while sitting at the rear of the boat and take it off on return. Could get used to this! There is a serious (and appreciated) mission to rid the island of invasive lionfish. All the guides carry spears (not guests) and often have to fight off "hungry" groupers once they spear one. These fish have learned to follow the groups in search of a meal. A great bunch of guides which parallels the staff in the shop. From the manager on down there is nothing to small to ask them or try to help with any issue with your gear. Drying facilities for wet suits and other gear are excellent. Nitrox readily available but you should be sure to check it yourself, even though the guides will be happy to do it for you. Let me also say the hotel/restaurant staff was superb. Rooms cleaned immaculately. Every meal buffet (can also pay a bit more for the "server" room) and excellent - several choices of meat/fish at every meal. Staff genuinely friendly all the time - the restaurant/bar staff seem to know everyone's name and always smile hello. Veggies/salad excellent and soup/chowder available lunch/dinner. Alcoholic beverages from bar a few feet away but no problem. Resort has some kind of activity every night, bingo, trivia, etc. Cayman Air has a few direct 737 flights from Miami/Denver/Houston and told us they are looking to add more. As we dove with mostly experienced divers we were largely on our own by the guides as they no doubt evaluated everyone for the first few dives to be sure we knew what we were doing. Can follow them or head out on your own and explore the reef. The wreck of the Tibbets is very good - they usually only go there once a week so be sure to ask at the outset of your diving. A former Russian/Cuban frigate that broke in half while being sunk as a reef, the insides of a warship are everywhere.

UW Photo Comments Only drawback for photographers is lack of a rinse tank on the boat - but as most of the sites are short distances from the shop, not an issue. The guides always use the fresh water hose to rinse your camera. A trend today is the use of the "go-pros" and even cases that hold your cell phone. As is typical, most photogs are polite to the other folks as it was on our boat. Others, well......
