Comments This was our 6th trip to Brac Reef Resort & & it is still a first class dive resort. Our dive group from Wateree Dive Center in Columbia, SC, brought 17 divers for a week. We flew from Charlotte to Grand Cayman, then flew a Twin Otter to Cayman Brac, but half of the group was delayed 8 hours by Cayman Airways for nebulous reasons. The taxi driver, a female, who took us from the airport to the resort (5 minutes) is a piece of work. She works for the government & is as pleasant as a rabid iguana with hemorrhoids. The rooms are fine, as is the pool area. The food is buffet, & is good and plentiful with varied menus.
The dive operation is excellent. Barb & Hellen are superb dive masters & we had a great week with them. We saw a dive master assigned to our boat whom we had had a bad experience with in Saba & our group leader asked to have him changed & the dive operation director did without any hesitation.
The water temp was 85-87, clear, little to no current with excellent fish life & corals. We saw only one nurse shark, but plenty of turtles & friendly flounders. We got 17 dives in& were all really good.
We had a great week & really want to return. This is a consistently excellent dive venue.
