Comments Brac Reef Resort was destroyed by Hurricane Paloma in the fall of 2008 and has been completely rebuilt, so it's essentially a brand new facility. The rooms are spotlessly clean and quite comfortable, with daily maid service and easy access to the beach, dock, pool, bar and restaurant. The only negative was the rooster that insisted on waking us up every morning at 4:00 a.m., but that was a minor problem.

We were on the FAP, so there was a buffet available at breakfast, lunch and dinner. Having experienced resort buffets before, I was prepared to be disappointed, but the food was excellent with a wide variety of choices available. It's clear that the kitchen staff takes a lot of pride in the food that they serve and we were very pleased. The dining room staff is simply outstanding. They greeted us by name at every meal and made sure that we had everything we needed.

The dive operation was great and our divemasters, Brett and BJ, were excellent. They were extremely knowledgeable about the dive sites around the Brac and Little Cayman. Every dive briefing was thorough and informative. Once we were in the water, we were free to explore on our own, which worked great for us since we tend linger and thoroughly explore the areas that we dive. The reefs around the Brac are very healthy with abundant fish, rays, eels and turtles. Unfortunately, there were also a lot of lionfish. We saw them on almost every dive, but they don't seem to have impacted the fish populations yet. The dive boat was forty something feet long with plenty of room for everyone. Entry was by giant stride and exit was via dual ladders.

This was an awesome vacation for us and I strongly recommend Brac Reef Resort and Reef Divers for both beginning and experienced divers. We're already planning a trip back to the Brac!
