Comments West coast flights to get to Cayman islands is an all day endeavor. That said, all was up ok once we landed on Cayman Brac. The resort pick up was right there for the less than 15 min trip to resort. Not much of a drive as it backs right up to the runway. I had requested a second floor, ocean view room with a refrigerator far away from pool and bar noise. The room they gave us was right over the pool/lobby, near parking lot, very little view except for the roof line. I went to lobby and told them the room was not acceptable, not even close to what I requested. After some back an forth and checking my reservation they agreed to change to change our room. The new room they gave us, #221, was fantastic. I don't believe they even bother to check the guests request profiles prior to arrivals.

All meals are buffet style and always varied, cooked to perfection and plentiful. Don't go there to lose weight....the deserts were my undoing.

Diving is off 2 to 3 large, well maintained boats. They do AM and PM dives. We opted to do the two AM dives. The crew goes out of their way to help with tanks and getting in and out of the water. 100 ft. max. depth is the rule which is no problem for most. All can be seen at that depth or less. Most times the boat can be seen. Not much in the large critter category. Some coral had large growths of algae. Lots of reef fish, a few turtles, eels and small sharks. All dive sites are short ride from the dock in calm waters.

The last time I dove the Caymans was with Bob Soto in the late '70's. Lobster, conch beds and large fish were all over. Sadly, time and has taken its toll on the sites we visited. In a few words, the daily dive sites are a bit tired. I saw a few lobster and conch and no big critters at all.

Cayman Brac is a great place to go for easy diving, great food and service. if you are a non dive your activities are limited.
