Comments This is not a site for a casual diver. However if you want to see a truly different underwater area it is a must. Food is Family Inn style so if you have a need for snacks bring your own, the rooms ddorm style. You are treaated as a real diver and expected to act like one. As a diver you need either a thick wet suit or a dry suit. Barkley sound does not have extreme currents and while we were there the ocean was calm. The first 30-40 feet had very low vis, though below this usually there was 60 plus foot vis. Most dives are on pinacles( Renatas Reef), though wall dives (Pill Point, wreck dives (Hong Kong Express)) and shore dives can be done. Good nav skills help as the anchor may be in a low vis area. Don't swim too much. The amount of life is tremendous and it is better to explore the area rather than storm through. A good light is a must. The color of the fish was more than I had thought with many being as bright as tropical fish. The rat fish are cute and the wolf eels are a little shy. A great area to look at the interesting little stuff.
