Comments I've loved Bonaire for 35 years but have never before been there in Dec/Jan. So I was aghast that 2 & sometimes 3 mega cruise ships docked DAILY at Town Pier smack in the middle of Bonaire's marine park. Visability was absolutely destroyed the entire length of Bonaire's west side. E.g., at Rappel - one of the farther northern sites - we were unable to see the dive boat 20 feet above our heads.

Conservation? What a joke! Why bother telling divers no gloves, no touching when mega vessels are crusing destructively through the park. The govt could, I believe, lay offshore & deliver cruise passengers by tender. But I suspect the dockage fee per passenger would be less. So yes, by all means, let's just destroy the environment for a bit more money.

Our family 3 of us love Bonaire as hard core divers like you & can not agree with you more !! One year we were there on January, 2 HUGE cruse ship (we were passing by dinky dive boat)I was thinking what would this many human would do to Ocean. I keep telling my son keep his memory safe because it may not exist on his kids generation.
