Comments Upon arrial - all was set in place driver waiting for us with sign to take us to Cptn Dons' we did however ask driver to stop at the Cultimara to stock up a bit since we arrived late on Saturday - no problems. Check-in quick and uneventful - suggest that all paperwork is filled out before you arrive at desk to make process faster. Stayed in ocean villa (these are privately owned) a few upgrades from our last visit - but feel that owner should spend a little time/money to keep up a bit more as villa is showing a bit of wear and age. The only bad thing is that "housekeeping" when cleaning keeps doors open - for bugs to get in of which were a bit nasty this year. They do provide bug spray - of which was used on a regular basis. Location is great as well as the staff as most are still there from our last trips. Shore diving is easy as past trips the shallows still have damage vis was limited due to tide and surge. Depths of 40-60+ reefs seem to be unaffected. Little critters are great in the shallows - Large tarpon, grouper are everywhere schools of snappers, grunts and the usual suspects for caribbean diving. We found quite alot of juvenile species at every site including the elusive frog fish. - at the boat at La Mancha sits a very large porcupine fish easily approached by one diver - hides under boat if more divers approach - also home to very large tiger grouper. 24/7 diving freedom is alive and well at Captn Don's - and far enough from town that the cruise shippers' wont effect your day - other than going into town. Bring bug spray with deet for the no-see-ums or wear long pants at night as they are voracious. The bad is still the ability for long line fishing with no controls on amounts of take - this is something that should be monitored - after one dive by Salt Pier - fisherman were cleaning their take - a very large cooler was "packed" with small snapper, amoung other species.

UW Photo Comments Boats have small bucket for cameras , boat crew does assist for hand offs. Shore has specified tub for camera use - no airconditioned area for battery change out other than your room. Capture Photo very good when they are there - also have shop at Divi - so time between the two is limited with staffing - however they are super when around.
