Comments We returned to Bonaire for Easter 2010. Easter 2009 worked out so well that we booked one of Captain Don's 10 bungalows the day we got back. We echo the reasons that everyone loves Bonaire, with the addition of Buddy's Seal Team program for kids. Son James took the class in '09, and repeated it in '10. Tina and the others at Buddy's are outstanding with kids. Maybe he didn't really need to repeat it, but nothing wrong with a little extra instruction. Now he's ready to get certified!
Augusto, German, Carlos, etc. at Buddy's are great to dive with. Unexpected treat was eating at Carlos' family's restaurant, "Mi Banana". DO NOT miss this. Only 7 or 8 tables, feels and tastes like the family has brought you into their home as the kids wait on you and the parents cook. Our only regreat was eating there just once because we saved it for the last night, going with a great family whose son was in the class with ours.
The donkeys are adorable, the Chinese-owned grocery up the street is well stocked and convenient. Very nice newly opened gym across the street from Sand Dollar. Red-eye flight is a pain but lately heard that a local carrier started daily late afternoon flights from Aruba. Only one compalint.....Bonaire Customs, PLEASE add more agents to process the visitors when the red-eyes arrive!!! Those at the end of the line must've waited 2 hours plus.
See ya next Easter! Once again, reservations were made as sson as we got home. Can't wait!
