Comments Bonaire is one of our favorite places to dive in the Caribbean, and the Carib Inn is the place to be. We flew to Curacao on AA this time (sky miles) connecting with DAE one way and Divi the other. We arrived a little later than anticipated, which often happens,so put off the grocery shopping for the next day. The Inn was clean and welcoming, and we always find remodeling has been done. After unpacking our frozen goods, we walked to town to eat at Karels overlooking the water. On subsequent nights we ate at Capt Don's and Chibi-Chibi - also overlooking the beautiful aqua sea.The house reef and boats are just footsteps from our door. We mostly dive from the boats, but dive the house reef at least once each trip. This time at the house reef we found hunting jacks, a green moray, peacock flounder, 2 large tarpons, spotted drums, angels, and numerous others- a very prolific area. The boats go out at 8:30 & 1:30 sharp; it is a quick boat ride and easy backward roll into the water. This trip we went north to Country Gardens, south to the Salt Pier via Jeanie's Glory and to Red Slave Huts, also Klein, and the Hilma Hooker. We did one of our favorite dives- Angel City with it's double reef system - we never know what will be cruising down the channel between the reefs here. We did sight a spotted eagle ray here, though not in the channel. One of our dive masters, Karen, seemed to find all the frogfish-3 at one site- and red and yellow sea horses. Bonaire is a very prolific area, and we always see sea turtles. We are glad to report we only saw 2 small lionfish our entire time there. Our only disappointment was that we were unable to go to the other coast of Bonaire for the second year in a row- they have a shortage of employees in July due to vacations.
