Comments This was a combination trip, with half the week spent in the Cayo district of Belize doing jungle adventure activities (including day trip to Tikal in Guatemala) and half the week on Ambergris Caye.

We stayed at the Sunbreeze in late December 2014. Great location, friendly staff and spacious rooms. Quiet - we never had trouble sleeping, and pool and bar noise was minimal at night. It is literally across the street from the airport……not normally what you would think would be acceptable, but airplane noise from the small prop plane airstrip was never an issue. There is a condo construction site next door, but fortunately no work was going on during Christmas week 2014 when we were there :-) We stayed in one of the preferred rooms on the first floor, while our kids (ages 18 & 20) stayed on the 2nd level in a standard room. Beds were comfortable, although on the softer side. The resort is shaped like a horseshoe, with the open end pointed towards the ocean and a small pool in the middle of the horseshoe. Cable TV with a wide selection of US and Spanish-language channels. Wifi did exist, but was slow in our room. Small filtered water jug was provided in our room each day and could be re-filled upon request. Air conditioner worked very well...our room also had ceiling fans. Floors were tiled, which kept things cooler. Plastic chairs outside each room if you want to sit outside or lay things out to dry. On-site restaurant (Blue Water Grill) is very good...we ate there for breakfast most days and a few times for lunch/dinner. Dinner reservations (at BWG or elsewhere) seem to be a must during peak vacation times like Christmas week. Hugh Parkey's Belize Dive Connection is the on-site dive op (more on them later). We used SEA-rious adventures for a full day catamaran trip to Caye Caulker combined with snorkeling = highly recommended. All in all, we had a great stay at the Seabreeze = comfortable/unpretentious accommodations, great location if you want easy access to central San Pedro, good on-site restaurant and dive op, friendly staff = I would definitely recommend the Seabreeze if you are after practical comfort without the glitz of the ever-expanding selection of condo resorts.

Hugh Parkey's Belize Dive Connection = my daughter and I used them for 6 dives over 2 days, including a night dive out at Hol Chan Cut. My wife/son also did a discovery dive with them on day 1. They have a large, stable boat and a very competent and helpful crew. Our dive guide provided very thorough briefings and erred on the conservative side…everything felt safe. We enjoyed the diving, although most of the diving we did (with the exception of Hol Chan) was on the deeper side, starting at 45+feet and ranging from 45-70. Their operation is generally pretty small, which made for a more intimate experience for us. The boat had between 4 and 7 divers when we were out with them on a boat that can comfortably handle 12+ divers. My impression of them was SOLID = nice folks, competent operation, skilled DM and boat crew. They did not have any specific accommodations for cameras. Boat rides to the dive sites were about 10 minutes from the dock. I'd definitely dive with them again.
