Comments Michelle Williams who owns Riding Rock Inn, was very easy to work with and was a great hostess for group. I've been escorting trips for 30 years, and this was a very laid back place to go, with an excellent staff, as well as being a very good value for the money. With that said, I did not see nearly as many sharks as I had anticipated, and the dive locations all seemed to be a very short distance from the marina (which was about a block and half from the resort) - I had heard from other divers that there were some great dive sites further away from the marina, be we never got to them. Not sure why. The water, at times was as clear as I've seen in the Bahamas, and the overall marine life was as good as anywhere in the Bahamas, although not as prolific as it is in places like Little Cayman. Rooms are clean and well kept, but this is not a high end resort-it's definitly for divers. You have cable and a mini fridge in your room, with comfortable beds and an awesome view from your balcony. There is a bar in the room next to the resturant with most any adult beverage that you might want. There's also plenty of food-you won't go hungry, and if you want more you can ask and they generally have more. There is also a pool at the resort if you want to swim or sun bathe. However, there's little to do other than eat, sleep, dive, play in the surf, or walk on the beach, so not great for non-divers... but it's a very pretty place if you enjoy nature. And God forbid, if you get sick, as one of my divers and I did (food poisoning) they'll insist you go to their local clinic and your doctor in the states will not be able to call something in for you! So take some Zofran and a round of Cipro with you as PRN meds-I neglected to do that on this trip and thought for awhile I might just die! I won't make that mistake again as it can happen anywhere on any dive trip. I did notice, unfortunately, some plastic bags and bottles that occasionally would appear in the water-who knows where they came from, but the trash was noticeable for time to time. Dives are generally 50-100 feet, 2 in the morning after breakfast and one in the afternoon after lunch. Night dives are optional if enough people sign up. Flight connections can be challenging (we overnighted at Orange Hill Inn in Nassau on the way over to the island, but flew all the way to Atlanta on the way back in one day). Those who flew with Club Med got stuck in Miami for a day or two on the way back. We used Delta to Nassau and Bahamas Air from Nassau to San Sal-all were on time with no hitches. I would not hesitate to go back. This is great diving for beginners and good diving for expirenced divers, as there's very little current with high vis and lots to see underwater. Going without 'night life' or shopping in a town is very theraputic, so this one's great if you can do without all the commercial sensory overload for a week!

UW Photo Comments There was a 'camera table' and a rinse tank for cameras but everyone put their 'stuff' on the camera table and masks ended up in the camera rinse tank-I've found that this is normal on most dive boats. It shouldn't be, but it is...
