Comments This was our third trip to dive with Brendal's on Green Turtle Cay. Our dive shop, Wateree Dive Center in Columbia, SC drove to Jacksonville and chartered a plane to Treasure Ca, which took an hour and 10 minutes. We took a ferry to GTC, which took about 15 minutes. We rented golf carts, which is a necessity, and drove to the Green Turtle Club, about 10 minutes away. The rooms on Turtle Point are comfortable and quite adequate.

We ate breakfast at the Club, beginning about 7:30 AM, and the dive boat leaves at about 9:00 AM. The boat holds 14 divers and is comfortable. We did two dives daily, and these are shallow (35-55 feet) and long (96 minutes my longest). We return about 2:00 pm. Dinner is usually in town, about 15 minutes by golfcart, and is quite good generally. The shopping is limited, but two grocery stores are adequate for the basics. The town is small, but interesting to tour by golf cart.

The visibility was 30-60 feet, and the water is warm. Brendal does a fantastic job in finding small critters and goes the extra mile in finding interesting things. Jack and Tasha are very good divemasters who help on the boat and in the water. The coral is good, and the fish life is very good. We saw sharks, grouper, rays, and fewer lionfish than we saw in previous trips. To me, the better that lionfish are controlled, then the more juvenile fish we see on the reefs. I think we had more juveniles on the reefs this year.

On the final day of diving, we end up with a picnic on a beach. Brendal does a fantastic job with lobsters and fish, including lionfish, which I did not realize could be as delicious as it was.

This is one of my favorite trips. The combination of a nice place to stay, great island with friendly people, and a great dive operation run by people who care about your vacation is unbeatable and this is definitely a return trip.
