Comments Unusually poor weather for that time of year set boundaries on dive opportunities & reduced maximum visibility. Crew tried hard to work around it and deliver a good trip. 24 dives offered, I took 18 & partners 22. Very good & experienced cook, deck crew, & officers. My wife in the Hospitality Industry liked them so much she tipped very generously by my standards. All prior maintenance problems on the re-fit boat reported in UC & elsewhere, were fixed. Fresh green salad every night, homemade soups, good variety of meals & made-on-board snacks/desserts. Only premade/packaged food were the cookies in the all day cookie jar [Oreos & choclate chip]. Dive briefings very thorough & accurate. Reefs in pretty good condition, recovering from prior Hurricaine(s). Possibly more algae than normal, due to slow recovery of invertebrate herbivore populations. Saw only a few urchin/sea cucumber/sea hare. Lots of small fish. Some large fish and friendly small groupers. Moderate amount of Lionfish. Some Eels/lobsters/turtles. Shark dive well run. Some saw a hammerhead skirt the outer perimeter. Divemasters would gladly buddy up with you if asked, & tour you around a reef. Fresh room & deck towels, and sheets when you wanted them, the laundry was running constantly. Hot showers on dive deck. Less crowded diving was nicer than on a bigger boat. ~20" HD TV with DVD player in every room, plus pretty good selection of free movies. Nitrox @ 26% to balance optimizing bottom time with access to depth off reef walls. Most affordable Carribiean live-aboard from a reputable company that I could find. Was on this exact hull, old configuation, in Belize ~22 years ago. Liked it a lot then, too.
